By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance.
He chose our heritage for us.—“He encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that flutters over its young, spreading out its wings, catching them, bearing them on its pinions, the Lord alone guided him, no foreign god was with him.”
“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.”—“Who is a teacher like him?”We walk by faith, not by sight.—Here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.—Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.—“Arise and go, for this is no place to rest, because of uncleanness that destroys with a grievous destruction.”
