^{2 !} The destruction that shal come on mount Seir, because thei troubled the people of the Lord.

^{2 a} Where the Idumeans dwelt.

^{5 b} When by their punishment I called them from their iniquitie.

^{6 c} Except thou repent former crueltie.

^{9 d} To wit, to their former estate.

^{10 e} Meaning, Israel & Judah.

^{10 f} And so by fighting against Gods people, thei shulde go about to put him our of his owne possession.

^{11 g} As thou hast done cruelly, so shalt thou be cruelly handled.

^{11 h} Shewing, that when God punisheth the enemies, the godlie oght to consider that he hathe a care ouer them and so praise his Name: and also that the wicked rage as thogh there were no God, til thei fele his hand to their destruction.
